Information for TC Professors

Dear Faculty Members and Graduate Advisors,

Under the guidance of Dr. Sandra Gillespie, it is with pleasure that we introduce the first official Writing Center for Teachers College in Tokyo, Japan. The Writing Center, geared to TC Tokyo's unique student body, has been in operation since May 2008, and we are excited by the prospect of contributing to the valuable forum of enabling people to embrace the complex process of writing. We would like to thank those who have participated in our tutorials, and hope that more writers will continue to benefit through sharing perspectives and exchanging ideas in what has been a nurturing environment thus far.

We welcome your participation in this undertaking. We invite you to arrange with one of our tutors to come to your class for a brief introductory seminar so that your students can understand what a Writing Center represents for them and how beneficial it can be to take part in a tutorial session. We also encourage you to increase awareness by informing your students about the services we provide.

Our hope is that we will be able to build a valuable relationship with as many people as possible at TC's Tokyo campus, including faculty, students, and alumni. Again, we are excited by this endeavor and we are eager to continue participating in the process of helping our peers become better writers.
