MA Project Workshop: Brainstorming

The TC Japan Writing Center will be holding the second session on the new MA Project . This session will be held at TC on Saturday, March 6th from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Students will brainstorm ideas for their project topic, discussing course papers they have written as well as relevant literature.  It is another session in a series affording opportunities for students to prepare for the project. It follows the first session, held on February 13, intended to familiarize students with the expectations required of the new MA project as well as provide suggestions on how to complete this degree requirement successfully.  We hope that the series will build a sense of community at our TC Tokyo campus. The fee to attend is 1000 yen.

There is a pre-course assignment for this brainstorming session  The assignments for students are as follows:

• Write 100 words on the topic of your literature review e.g. why you chose it, why it is relevant
• Bring a paper you have written for a course on the topic (if applicable)
• If you have no paper, bring in an article on the topic and be prepared to summarize it and explain why you chose it
• Even if you have a paper to bring in, you are encouraged to bring in an article as well

Those that missed the first orientation session may attend, on the condition that they watch the video and download previous handouts. These are also provided on our website in the Resources section. The video is available both on the website, as well in DVD form on reserve in the TC library.

The fee will help raise a minimal budget for the Writing Center, a student body economically independent of TC.
